Conan’s a battlin’ barbarian who can swing a sword with the best of them, but how will he fare against a legitimate sociopath? Hannibal Lecter might not come packing the same level of brawn, but he’s got a quick mind and the physical speed to match. Sure, Conan might just lop off Lecter’s head and take an easy win, but Hannibal blends a flair for violence with an unrivaled intellect, making it a classic case of brains versus brawn. Expect this to be a close one, folks.
Anthony Hopkins, "Silence of the Lambs"
Said Jack Crawford to Clarice Starling, “Believe me, you don't want Hannibal Lecter inside your head.” Or anywhere near your body, either, for that matter. (“Hannibal the Cannibal” ain’t just a clever nickname.) As a Johns-Hopkins-trained psychologist, Dr. Lecter enjoys mocking those he views as beneath him and he’ll do anything to escape captivity. Once, while in custody, he complained of chest pains; upon the release of his mouthpiece and restraints for his electrocardiogram, the good Doctor promptly attacked a nurse, tearing out her eye, dislocating her jaw, and biting her tongue off…and his pulse never topped 85 beats per minute.
Definitive badass moment:
After picking the lock of his handcuffs, Lecter waits until the optimal moment, then takes on two guards singlehandedly. One gets beaten to death with a baton, disemboweled, and tied to the bars of the cage in a crucifixion-styled manner; the other is bitten, killed, and has his face skinned off so that Lecter can use it as a mask to escape.
Classic badass line: “A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.”
Strengths: Small and wiry, infinitely creative, and enjoys the taste of human flesh
Weaknesses: Is so convinced of his own genius that he may underestimate the intelligence of others
Bracket History: Defeated #14 Snake Plissken in round 1, 62%-38%
Conan the Barbarian
Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Conan the Barbarian"
Conan isn’t the only movie character to ever have his parents slayed and village burned right before his very eyes, but the fact that his mother was beheaded while still holding his hand definitely explains why he’s so hell-bent on destroying anything and everything that stands in his way. Not unlike fellow contestant Maximus, Conan the Barbarian was also sold into slavery and transformed into a powerful gladiator, but while the former’s search for revenge ultimately ended in his death, Conan destroys the evil Thusla Doom and lives to tell about it in another adventure. Oh yeah, and he gets the girl, too.
Definitive badass moment:
Sensing that the end of the movie was near, Conan decapitates Doom in front of his loyal supporters, thus killing his longtime enemy and disbanding the wicked Snake Cult in one fell swoop of the sword.
Classic badass line: “Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, and why we died. All that matters is that today, two stood against many. Valor pleases you Crom, so grant me this one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then the hell with you!”
Strengths: Arms the size of oil barrels and a broadsword as big as a tree trunk
Weaknesses: Big and slow, he’s an easy target
Bracket History: Defeated #11 Casey Ryback in round 1, 76%-24%
