Conan the Barbarian
Conan vs. Casey Ryback

Casey Ryback is the strong but silent type who prefers to avoid conflict unless it’s absolutely necessary, while Conan…well, frankly, the guy’s a barbarian.  Casey’s got the skills to whip up a victory, but will he decide to put up his dukes and make with the martial arts before Conan breaks out his broadsword?

Casey Ryback

Conan the Barbarian

Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Conan the Barbarian"
Conan isn’t the only movie character to ever have his parents slayed and village burned right before his very eyes, but the fact that his mother was beheaded while still holding his hand definitely explains why he’s so hell-bent on destroying anything and everything that stands in his way. Not unlike fellow contestant Maximus, Conan the Barbarian was also sold into slavery and transformed into a powerful gladiator, but while the former’s search for revenge ultimately ended in his death, Conan destroys the evil Thusla Doom and lives to tell about it in another adventure. Oh yeah, and he gets the girl, too.

Definitive badass moment: Sensing that the end of the movie was near, Conan decapitates Doom in front of his loyal supporters, thus killing his longtime enemy and disbanding the wicked Snake Cult in one fell swoop of the sword.

Classic badass line: “Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, and why we died. All that matters is that today, two stood against many. Valor pleases you Crom, so grant me this one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then the hell with you!”

Seed: #6
Occupation: Gladiator
Strengths: Arms the size of oil barrels and a broadsword as big as a tree trunk
Weaknesses: Big and slow, he’s an easy target

Casey Ryback

Steven Seagal, "Under Siege"
That’s Casey fucking Ryback to you. Lately, he’s preferred to focus on his expertise in the culinary arts, but the list of things in which Ryback is skilled extends beyond whipping up a scrumptious bouillabaisse…or, as the man himself once clarified, “I also cook.” First and foremost, though, he’s an ex-SEAL who’s an expert in martial arts, explosives, weapons and tactics; he’s also earned a Silver Star, a Navy Cross and a Purple Heart, as well as a demotion down to Yeoman for punching a superior officer.  (He deserved it, though.)  In short, Ryback’s a warrior…and the best there is.

Definitive badass moment: When, while in the process of taking back the USS Missouri from terrorists, he invades the metal shop and, armed only with a knife, proceeds to take down half a dozen guys…starting by slicing a rope and dropping a girder through the first guy’s chest, then finishing the last fella off by shoving him shoulder-first into a band saw.

Classic badass line: “You think this is being shot…? This ain't being shot.”

Seed: #11
Occupation: Former Navy SEAL, now a cook
Strengths: Military training, martial arts expertise
Weaknesses: Doesn’t really like to fight, is prone to overconfidence when he does fight
