Born in Columbia in 1972, it didn’t take long before Sofia was noticed by the modeling agencies scouring the exotic beach locales for sexy women. In fact, Sofia’s modeling career - which included an extended stint as her country’s Pepsi girl - led her to bigger and better things, namely television. As the star host of three of Univision’s hit shows from 1995-2000, Sofia became a national celebrity in no time.After her sudden rise to the top of Latin television, Sofia decided to give Hollywood a shot, and began with modeling gigs for magazines like Gear before landing guest spots on "Baywatch" and the Damon Wayans sitcom “My Wife and Kids.” Following her short stint on TV, Sofia quickly moved on to small roles for films like “Soul Plane” and “Big Trouble,” and also witnessed the US release of her Latin-produced comedy, “Chasing Papi.” Now, Sofia’s name is on the tongues of nearly every casting director in Hollywood, and by the end of 2005, she will have appeared in six American films within one year’s time.
