Diane Keaton

Over a career spanning more than five decades, Diane Keaton has established herself as one of Hollywood’s most versatile and enduring talents. She has left an indelible mark on the film industry with her unique blend of natural charisma, comic timing, and dramatic depth.

Keaton’s foray into the world of acting began on the stage. Her Broadway debut came in the original 1968 production of “Hair.” She gained further recognition in the stage production of “Play It Again, Sam,” which earned her a Tony Award nomination. However, it was her film debut in the screen adaptation of “Play It Again, Sam” in 1972 that marked the beginning of her illustrious film career.

The turning point in Keaton’s career came with her role as Kay Adams-Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola‘s “The Godfather” (1972). Her performance in this critically acclaimed film, and its subsequent sequels, garnered her widespread recognition. She was the all-American girl who provided a clear contrast to the Italian crime family.

However, it was her collaboration with director Woody Allen that truly showcased her comedic talent and made her a household name. Keaton starred in several of Allen’s films, but her role as the title character in “Annie Hall” (1977) is perhaps her most iconic. This role, which reportedly was loosely based on her, earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress. The film’s quirky, neurotic charm, combined with Keaton’s effortless portrayal of the character, solidified her status as a leading actress in Hollywood.

Following the success of “Annie Hall,” Keaton continued to show her range as an actress in various genres. She reeled off a string of amazing performances in films such as “Looking for Mr. Goodbar” (1977), “Manhattan” with Woody again (1979), and “Reds” (1981”).

In the 1990s and 2000s, Keaton continued to take on diverse roles. She received critical acclaim for her performance in “Something’s Gotta Give” (2003), opposite Jack Nicholson, earning her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy and an Academy Award nomination. This film marked a resurgence in her career, particularly as a lead actress in romantic comedies and dramas.

Diane is one of our all-time favorites and we’re thrilled to see her in new roles.
