In the gyms of New York City, they called her “La Guitarra” because her body curved like a guitar, but to most of us she’s just J. Lo, the semi-talented Latin sensation with one of the greatest asses in the history of women. Born in New York City’s Spanish Harlem to a family who rewarded hard work and excellence, Jennifer had aspirations of becoming a performer since she was a child. It didn’t take long before she was singing and dancing her way across the stage in local musicals, and before she knew it, fellow Latina Rosie Perez helped the dancer land a gig as a Fly Girl on the sketch comedy show, “In Living Color.”
After her time as a hip-hop dancer on the show though, Jennifer was itching to get some work as an actress and was referred by fellow co-stars for the upcoming FOX series, “South Central.” The series wasn’t a success, but it did allow the young actress to hone her skills for future projects that included the Aaron Spelling flop, “Malibu Shores,” and the made-for-TV movie, “Mi Familia.” After a few more bit roles in the Robin Williams film, “Jack,” and the Wesley Snipes/Woody Harrelson reunion, “Money Train,” Jennifer was fast on her way to landing the audition for the most important film of her career, “Selena.” Jennifer won the role of the murdered Tejano pop star and quickly became one of the hottest new actresses on the scene, adding a list of co-stars like George Clooney and Sharon Stone to her resume.
Now that she was officially respected as an A-list actress, Jennifer decided to branch off and conquer her second love: music. With her debut album, On the 6, Jennifer became an instant pop sensation due to the ground-breaking fusion of Latin and hip-hop that flowed through radio hits like “Waiting for Tonight” and “If You Had My Love.” The hot tamale continued to burn through the critical barricades with two more album releases, a handful of box-office winners and a few, very popular boyfriends that included back-up dancer Chris Judd and hip-hop connoisseur Puff Daddy. Her most recent engagement to Hollywood A-lister Ben Affleck cast off her much loved “J. Lo” nickname in place of the tabloid favorite, “Bennifer,” but even that superstar love match was bound not last.
Regardless of her horrible luck with successful relationships, Jennifer has continued to rule the streets, picking up numerous awards for her so-called talent and releasing a fashion company that has produced two fragrances (Glow and Shine) for the market. The future of her acting career was delivered a horrible blow over the past two years with the box-office failures of “Gigli” and “Jersey Girl,” but don’t count her out just yet. As long as she continues to strut her amazing body across the red carpet with a glimmering smile and confident attitude, Jennifer’s star power will surely keep the money rolling in.

Jennifer Lopez on the Screen
Jennifer has been a star on the music and film scene for awhile now, garnering respect from both crowds with a talent for laying down Tex-Mex-seasoned hip-hop and portraying tough-as-nails beauty queens when she’s not making headline news with her harem of famous boyfriends. While Jennifer’s first gig as a Fly Girl on the sketch comedy show, “In Living Color,” may seem like her breakout job, after a few small roles in “Jack” and “Money Train,” Jennifer hit it big with the musical biopic for the tragically murdered Latin pop star, “Selena.” After showing off her skills on the big screen, Jennifer exploded into super stardom with a number of films including “Anaconda,” “Out of Sight” and “The Cell,” while she recorded her first major album, On the 6. Since then, the self-titled J. Lo has shown no signs of slowing down. Her music career continues to thrive, she’s a full-fledged member of the romantic comedy club, and more recently, she took her talents to “American Idol” as a judge.
Jennifer Says
On her now-famous behind:
“I could serve coffee using my rear as a ledge.”
On her tabloid-run love life:
“People equate sexy with promiscuous. They think that because I’m shaped this way, I must be scandalous — like running around and bringing men into my hotel room. But it’s just the opposite.”
