Meg Ryan in “When Harry Met Sally . . .”

Like many other guys, we had a massive crush on Meg Ryan in the 80s and 90s. She was the ultimate “girl next door” beauty and the queen of romantic comedies. She had so much natural charisma and charm on the screen and you couldn’t take your eyes off of her with her striking blue eyes and warm smile. She also pulled off that 80s hair better than most as you can see in the screen shot above.

She got her start with some soap opera roles, and then landed roles “Top Gun” (1986) as Goose’s wife and then “Innerspace” (1987) opposite future husband Dennis Quaid. She was fantastic in both films and just jumped off the screen. “Top Gun” was a massive hit of course and “Innerspace” is a hidden gem.

Meg’s career exploded with Rob Reiner’s “When Harry Met Sally…” (1989), opposite Billy Crystal. Her performance as Sally Albright cemented her as a rom-com star. She was so good in this film and everyone remembers the infamous deli fake orgasm scene.

She continued her rom-com heater in the 90s with “Sleepless in Seattle” (1993) and “You’ve Got Mail” (1998), both with Tom Hanks. Any list of the greatest rom-coms of all time will probably include at least two movies with Meg.

She had a huge career with many memorable roles. She took on a much edgier role in the 2000s with the erotic thriller “In the Cut” (2003) where our rom-com queen gave us full-frontal nudity and some sizzling sex scenes with co-star Mark Ruffalo. We enthusiastically recommend it!
