Known for her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio perhaps more so than her Israeli heritage, Bar Rafaeli was born in Hod HaSharon, Israel in 1985. She began modeling when she was only 8 in commercials, and in 2007, she was the first Israeli model featured in Sports Illustrated. The publicity following the Sports Illustrated look propelled Bar to model for numerous agencies and companies, including a Brazilian clothing line and an Italian jewelry line. In 2009, she was the cover model for Sports Illustrated.

Bar's relationship with DiCaprio began in 2005 and occupied her personal life for the second half of the decade. A controversy developed in 2007 when it was reported Bar married at 18 and divorced her husband soon after to avoid military service. Since then, Bar has engaged in numerous philanthropy efforts.
