Golden Hour Model Gallery

When we started doing photoshoots for Bullz-Eye, we learned very quickly about the benefits of taking photos during the golden hour. It’s the period shortly after sunrise or before sunset when the sun is lower in the sky, causing the light to travel through more of the Earth’s atmosphere. The quality of light is so unique and flattering and we created some amazing photos when we could work that into our schedule.

As you’ll see in the photos below, the position of the sun during the golden hour scatters shorter blue wavelengths, resulting in a softer, warmer, and more diffused light. This soft light reduces harsh shadows on the face and body, which is ideal for capturing the smooth, flawless skin of the beautiful models. The light has a golden or amber hue, which not only enhances skin tones but also adds a warm, inviting glow to photographs.

The side lighting also helps, as it creates long, dramatic shadows that can sculpt the body, highlighting curves and contours in a way that’s both flattering and artistic. Sometimes it can also serve as backlighting where the subject can be silhouetted or haloed with light, adding depth and a magical quality to the images.

We love how colors in this light tend to be more saturated, and the contrast between the warm light and cooler shadows can make for visually striking images that stand out. The light is so good you rarely need any additional light, making the entire photo set look more natural.

And of course this often comes with great locations like the beach.
