Penelope Cruz is the Spanish Julia Roberts, with the smile of the redheaded bombshell, the full lips of Angelina Jolie and more sexual bang than Salma Hayek. Starting off as a persistent child dancer, Penelope decided to leave home to study at Spain’s greatest theater school for four years and soon appeared in her first Spanish TV drama in 1990. After following up her TV debut with a number of appearances in television commercials and music videos, Penelope went on to star in a handful of critically acclaimed Spanish films that brought home a number of Spanish Oscars and even an Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.
Known to many from her homeland as the “Spanish enchantress,” Penelope moved to Hollywood in the hopes of pursuing her dream as a star, though she probably didn’t expect it to happen so soon. She quickly donated the earnings she received from her first U.S. project and was suddenly thrust into a number of roles requiring her natural sincerity and exotic beauty. Declared in 2000 as one of People‘s 50 Most Beautiful Women, Penelope has since become a model for big shot designer Ralph Lauren and appeared in a number of U.S. films hailed for her wonderful performances. A wild child in the bedroom, Penelope has been known to mix it up with her male co-stars on and off the set. Now only if she would stop by our houses to spend the night.

Penelope’s Sexiest Roles
Penelope has not been shy about showing off her beautiful body in her movies. One of the best is “Jamón, jamón” from 1992 with some hot topless scenes. Apart from nude scenes, one of our favorites is her role opposite Scarlett Johansson in Woody Allen’s “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” in 2008 where she and Scarlett have some hot kissing scenes.

Penelope Cruz on the Screen
Penelope’s film career has been slowly building up with the release of the horror/thriller “Gothika” and the Ted Demme masterpiece “Blow.” Penelope was first presented to American audiences in the 1997 Sundance Film Festival favorite “Abre Los Ojos,” the Spanish original that inspired Cameron Crowe’s “Vanilla Sky,” in which Cruz also starred. Other U.S. appearances include the dramas “All the Pretty Horses” and “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.” With each new film, Penelope hopes she will become less of a pretty face and more of a serious actress. She may be getting better at the whole acting gig, but we could never forget that pretty face.
“Vicky Cristina Barcelona” (2008)
Penelope is stunning in this film and has amazing chemistry with Javier Bardem. She won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for this performance. She looks amazing as well!
Penelope Says
On the pressures of Hollywood:
“The most important lesson I’ve learned in this business is how to say no. I have said no to a lot of temptations, and I am glad I did.”
On searching the Internet:
“One day, I looked for myself (on the Internet), and I was so scared of what I saw. I saw ‘Penelope Cruz Naked,’ and I thought, what is that?”
On breaking out as a serious actress:
“The most difficult thing in the world is to start a career known only for your looks, and then to try to become a serious actress. No one will take you seriously once you are known as the pretty woman.”
On her luck in the industry:
“I think it is a privilege [to be working in show business.]Not everybody can do what they want to do and still eat. I’m very lucky. And it’s getting better and better.”

Penelope’s lovely and sexy image graced the movie poster for “Woman on Top,” and also made our list of one of the sexiest movie posters of all time:
“Penelope Cruz already makes anything she’s in 300% hotter, but there’s plenty of heat behind this poster for “Woman on Top.” Not only does her teasing gaze melt you like chocolate, but she’s also playfully holding a red pepper to her lips. (The only way this could have been sexier is if it was strawberry instead.) And let’s not forget about the burning edges on the photo. So yeah, hot. What really sends this poster over the edge, however, is the title and tagline, which is not only one helluva double-entendre, but will undoubtedly raise your interest in the film.”
