Amber Heard was so anxious to succeed in Hollywood she left her high school in Austin, Texas to head west and by 18 landed three acting gigs including a role in the 2004 football drama “Friday Night Lights.” With her 5’8” frame and blonde hair, Amber was never short of work – by the time she was 21 she had been involved in 16 projects. And with those looks, Amber may have found herself in a typecast situation, but she has refreshingly blended her resume with indie and mainstream work. She’s part of the 2005 drama “North Country” starring Charlize Theron, and appears in “Alpha Dog” and on the short-lived CW series “Hidden Palms,” which ran for 8 episodes in 2007 with Amber as the lead female character, Greta Matthews.
By not succumbing to the tired roles of the ubiquitous gorgeous girl with nothing to say, Amber has steadily extended her range into a variety of genres, including the indie horror flick “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane” in which she plays the title character. Amber has also shown over the years that she has staying power.
Amber made her debut in the pilot of “Jack & Bobby,” the proposed TV series that never made it beyond the initial episode in 2004. Steady appearances on TV followed, including “The O.C.,” “Californication,” and the short-lived “Hidden Palms,” in which she was a series regular. Her feature debut was in Peter Berg’s “Friday Night Lights,” followed by the indie films like “sideFX,” “Drop Dead Sexy” and “Price to Pay.” The end of the decade has seen Amber grow into bigger film roles, particularly in “Never Back Down.”
While she looked absolutely amazing when she starred in “The Playboy Club” on NBC, that wasn’t enought to save that series. Here’s a sexy gallery of Amber from that show.
Sadly, Amber’s volatile relationship with Johnny Depp led to an ugly lawsuit.

Amber Says
On filming fight scenes:
“Every detail was planned out and choreographed so well that it was hard to get excited. It was done to such precision. We worked all night long, 14 hours night in Orlando, Florida during the summer. I don’t recommend it.”
On working with the Judd Apatow crew on “Pineapple Express”:
“I had more fun on that set than I’ve ever had. Of course!”
