TV Power Rankings Interviews - Fall 2010

Whenever Bullz-Eye has a new TV Power Rankings on the horizon, we immediately launch into a steadfast attempt to secure interviews with as many people affiliated with the ranked shows as we possibly can. It’s always fun to mix things up and chat not only with the cast members of the series but with the creators as well, since it’s the latter who’s more likely to have insight on what we can expect from these shows in the future. This time around, we chatted with Mayim Bialik, who’s been added to the ensemble of “The Big Bang Theory” this season, Michael Schur, the co-creator of “Parks & Recreation,” and Kyle Killen, creator of the late, great, and far too short-lived Fox series, “Lone Star,” with more to come!

Aleksa Palladino
Co-star of “Boardwalk Empire
“(Martin Scorsese) was really involved, particularly at the very beginning. He really helped us build the foundation for our characters. He would just send me file after file of all of these different things he’d pulled from female artists of the time.”

Paul Lieberstein
Co-star and writer for “The Office”
On the Andy/Erin relationship: “It seemed more interesting to kind of break them apart and have Andy want something that he can’t have. They can be an interesting couple when they’re together, too. We’ll get back there eventually.”

Mayim Bialik
Co-star of “The Big Bang Theory”
“(‘The Big Bang Theory’) is a really challenging set in a really positive, creative way. They really will refine things up until the last minute. They’ll try things out for the first time in front of a live studio audience. It’s very creative and very spontaneous.”

Kyle Killen
Creator of “Lone Star”
“That’s the sad thing about sitting down and watching the subsequent episodes (of ‘Lone Star’): that you want to be able to say, ‘Ugh, well, then it went south,’ but, really, you sit down and watch ‘em, and you’re like, ‘Hey, that’s pretty good TV!'”

Michael Schur
Co-creator of “Parks and Recreation”
“Chris Pratt is so dreamy as a human being. Besides just being a good looking dude, he’s just, like, the sweetest funniest guy, and I think he really draws out of Aubrey Plaza something that’s…I mean, it’s hard not to stare at him moony-eyed.”

Michael Schur

Grizz Chapman
Co-Star of “30 Rock”
“Well, you know what? Believe it or not…and I can’t speak for Tina or for the show’s ideas..but at the time, I don’t think they were aware of the diamonds in the rough that they had. Once they realize they had two diamonds in the rough, they just picked us up, cleaned us up, polished us off, and let us go. And I thank Tina Fey every day for giving us the opportunity to do that. Especially me.”
