Patriots vs Cardinals

Sports Channel / Bullz-Eye Home

For most guys, it doesn't get any better than a Sunday afternoon spent sitting in front of the TV, beer and chips close at hand, watching guys like Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers work their magic on the field. That's not to say that the NFL is without its own flaws (don't get us started on the officiating), but between NFL Sunday Ticket and fantasy football, the NFL is more popular than ever. Even the lockout didn't dim the excitement from fans, and this past offseason saw interested in the draft and free agancy explode. Of course Fantasy Foofball, office pools and betting on NFL games also drives a ton of interest as well. Tons of fans will enjoy this through online sports betting or heading to Las Vegas for the weekend. Fortunately, many more states are getting in on the act as well.

NFL Web Sites and Blogs

Pro Football Focus
Analytics has come to the NFL, and this is one of the premiere sites offering analysis of players based on analytics.

Pro Football Talk
Mike Florio's site is very influential and loaded with information. There's nothing special about the layout but the affiliation with NBC gives him more resources.

National Football Post
The excellent staff here consistently breaks stories.

ProSportsDaily.com
This site offers a great resource page that collates news stories about the NFL from newspapers around the country. This is a great resource for rabid fans, hopeless gamblers and fantasy geeks all around the country (Bullz-Eye editors fall under all three categories).

NFL.com
This is the official site of the NFL. You'll find everything you expect from an official site, though don't expect to find controversial commentary.

ProFootballWeekly.com
NFL junkies will love the sheer volume of original content on this site from the popular weekly magazine. The graphics and layout are not overly impressive, but when the content delivers like this does, who really cares?

ESPN.com
ESPN has been focusing so much on video that their site just isn't quite as user-friendly as it used to be. Yet, it still offers great in-season news, and also decent offseason and preseason coverage. For the NFL draft, you get some good stuff from Mel Kiper and Todd McShay as well.

Over The Cap
This is an excellent resource for anyone interested in the salary cap situation of NFL teams.

CBS Sports
This general sports site is loaded with NFL news and commentary.

USAToday.com
All of the news, features and stats you'd expect from this media giant, including schedules, league leaders, odds and some of the best columnists around.

Twitter Accounts for NFL Fans

Twitter is a mjust-have tool for sports enthusiasts. It's a great way to get the latest information and interact with other fans and experts. Flame wars between fans are common and can be hilarious. There are tons of great Twitter accounts out there to follow if you're an NFL fan. With these accounts you'll get great info without some of the hysterical stupidity that can infect many Twitter accounts.

Benjamin Allbright
Ben consistently provides no-nonsense analysis and news while focusing mostly on quarterback evaluations and the NFL Draft.

Mike Freeman
Columnist and author Mike Freeman consistently provides great insight into the NFL. He's also a hard-core Trekkie who will go at it with Star Wars fans.

Pete Prisco
CBS columnist Pete Prisco never holds back so he dfinitely ruffles some feathers with his brash style. He also loves to get into flame wars with Mike Freeman, so he loves to mock for his Star Trek obsession, while Freeman usually responds with a 'short stack" reference for the vertically challenged Prisco.

Brent Sobleski
NFL analyst for The Bleacher Report.

Matt Miller
Miller focuses on the NFL draft and definitely puts in the work. He knows his stuff and is a great follow, even if he's one of the guys who thrives on "way too early" takes with mock drafts a year in advance.
