Now don't get us wrong here, Courteney Cox is certainly one of the lesser babes on the site, but there's just something about her that drives men crazy. Overshadowed for the past 10 years as one of Jennifer Aniston's go-to girls, Courteney's talent has been constantly squashed in the limelight by her co-star's incredible star power. As an architecture and interior design student at the Mount Vernon College, Courteney became interested in acting after signing with the Ford modeling agency on a summer trip to New York. After appearing in magazines like Teen Beat and Young Miss, Courteney moved on to television commercials for Maybelline and Noxzema before securing a role on the soap "As the World Turns."

In 1984, director Brian DePalma selected Courteney to star in the Bruce Springsteen music video for "Dancing in the Dark," also appearing in the Counting Crows video for "A Long December" later on in her career. After a part on the 1985 TV-dud "Misfits of Science," Courteney became a regular on the Michael J. Fox family comedy "Family Ties" until its demise three years later. 1994 quickly became Courteney's magic year, filming "Ace Ventura" and auditioning for "Friends," though she was originally cast for Rachel until she managed to change the producer's minds. Her long, ten-year stint on "Friends" was the best career move ever made; though she really hasn't done much more. After marrying "Scream" co-star David Arquette in 1999, Courteney will likely be looking to start a family anytime soon, but don't count her out of Hollywood yet, because she's still on the hunt for a new project and chance at another fifteen minutes.

Iconic Character - Monica on "Friends"

For many fans, Courtney's role as Monica on "Friends" will always be a favorite. We highlihgted this character in our "TV Girlfriends" feature in the "Thy Neighbor's Wife" catagory. Here's what we said about the character:

"She's an opinionated, anal retentive control freak with a nasty competitive streak and a stubborn womb, but Ross's little sister inarguably got the looks in the Geller clan – and because of her shameful past as a calorie-inhaling fat chick (and current occupation as a chef), you know two things: One, she can cook a mean meal; and two, she'll always work just a little bit harder in the sack. Even better, despite her striking good looks (and in spite of her often grating personality), Monica has often been insecure enough about men to date anyone – a middle-aged ophthalmologist, a schlubby wannabe Ultimate Fighting Champion, a "fun" alcoholic, and even the smart-mouthed nebbish across the hall, who she finally ended up marrying in 2001. Monica and Chandler fled New York City with their infant twins in 2004, the picture of domestic bliss – but hey, that was five whole years ago, and one of them is almost guaranteed to have driven the other insane by now. If you've got enough eccentricities (and one of them is a supernatural ability to withstand repeated, high-volume blasts of "I KNOW!" in your ear), who knows? Play your cards right, and you could be the Big Fat Goalie's next main squeeze."

Courteney on Screen

Courteney will forever be known as the clean-freak friend, Monica Gellar, on the hit NBC sitcom "Friends," though she hasn't exactly become a star with just one hit. Well, maybe she has, but her past appearances in Jim Carrey's comedic hit "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" and the Wes Craven horror trilogy "Scream" are definitely worth mentioning. Courteney has also appeared in a number of cult classics like the Kevin-Costner-gone-bad flick "3000 Miles to Graceland" and the retro He-Man film "Masters of the Universe."

As for her role as Monica, we included her in our TV Girlfriends feature in the Thy Neighbor's Wife Category. See if she would have been your favorite!

On Hollywood's constant obsession with image:
"If I like myself at this weight, then this is what I'm going to be. I don't have an eating disorder."
