Kate Moss

Kate Moss

Many of the supermodels of her era — Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, and Naomi Campbell among them — aren’t gracing fashion spreads as often as they used to, but Kate Moss, the original anti-supermodel, is making more money than she did during her initial rush to fame in the early ’90s; in fact, 2006 brought her Britain’s highest accolade for a model, and though not all of her recent press has been desirable, she’s certainly outlasted many of her peers.

Ah, yes. The bad press. After the breakup of her longterm relationship with Johnny Depp, Moss fell in with noted rock star/drug addict Pete Doherty, and before long, she was photographed snorting a line of cocaine. The pictures cost her some modeling gigs, but before long, she’d picked up 18 more, thus proving that there are definitely second acts in the lives of world-famous, super-rich models.

After that, with her drug charges dropped, Moss resumed her modeling career fast and furious, and can be spotted doing shoots for Rimmel, Agent Provocateur, Virgin Mobile, Belstaff, Beymen, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli, Longchamp, Stella McCartney, Bulgari, Chanel, Nikon, David Yurman, Versace, Mia Shvili, Calvin Klein Jeans and Burberry. Men with a fetish for women built like young boys can rest easy — we won’t be seeing the last of Kate Moss anytime soon.
