A child actor since the age of six, Camilla Belle has found herself now at the age of 22 with an interesting professional career already behind her. Born from a Brazilian fashion designer mother and American construction company owner father, Camilla was born Camilla Belle Routh in 1986 and raised in Los Angeles.
Following work as a child in TV and cable movies, “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” and “Practical Magic” boosted her to new heights as she neared her teens. In addition to acting, Camilla also began honing her piano skills at the same time appearing on screen as Steve Seagal’s daughter in “The Patriot.” It was in 2005 when Camilla, now approaching 20, found herself in a serious role with serious players: “The Ballad of Jack & Rose” with Daniel Day-Lewis. “When A Stranger Calls” soon followed, along with lead roles in Roland Emmerich’s 2008 summer tentpole “10,000 BC” and the sci-fi actioneer “Push.”

“I’m not a dark person at all, so those roles are the most challenging. I don’t think I’m necessarily drawn to dark things. It just seems to work out that way.”
