We’re not huge Taylor Swift fans, but we certainly respect her talent and amazing accomplishments. And we don’t mind the Taylor hysteria and the devotion of the Swifites . . . again, she’s earned that devotion with her impressive career and song catalog.
That said, a Taylor interview probably isn’t at the top of our list in terms of “must-listen” podcast episodes, though it’s certainly a big deal when she makes an appearance on her boyfriend’s show, which also happens to be one of the most popular podcasts out there for guys. This interview marked Taylor Swift’s first-ever podcast appearance, a rare media event for the global superstar who typically avoids such platforms.
Taylor joined the Kelce brothers on their “New Heights” podcast yesterday, and Swift used the platform to announce her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, set for release on October 3, 2025. She revealed the album’s cover art and tracklist, describing it as an upbeat, vibrant project reflecting her life behind the scenes of her recent tour.
As expected, the episode pretty much broke the Internet, smashing records and racking up view on YouTube. Taylor is a sensation.
Still, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re a big Taylor fan. She starts with the emotional impact of getting ownership of her master recordings, which was compelling in one sense, but still not something most guys will want to sit through. It was very dramatic . . . and perhaps a bit much. Also, her stories about learning football basics is something we’ve all heard before from other girlfriends who start dating athletes.
We gave up after about 20 minutes . . . so we can’t speak to the rest of the interview. Yes, it was a major media event, but certainly not a must-listen.
