Post-network employment tends not to go too smoothly for MTV game show hosts -- something tells us Ken Ober's agent's phone isn't exactly ringing off the hook -- but for the buxom babes dispensing cash & prizes next to them, it's a completely different story. The '80s brought us "Remote Control"'s Kari Wuhrer, who has gone on to Cinemax domination as a sort of poor man's Alyssa Milano; in the early '90s, it was Jenny McCarthy, co-host of "Singled Out," who used network notoriety as a launchpad into the kind of fame that would have once seemed almost unattainable for a former Playmate of the Year.
Oh, right, the Playboy thing -- that didn't hurt either. McCarthy shook her moneymakers for the magazine in 1993, was selected as Playmate of the Year, and has been moving from short-lived sitcom to direct-to-DVD film project ever since. And did we mention she's also a bestselling author? It's true -- McCarthy has written a trilogy of books about her pregnancy and raising of her son, Evan. Her implants are gone and she's aglow with motherhood, but you can still catch McCarthy doing her sexy/funny thing in various print ads, films, or television shows -- or accepting Razzie Awards for Worst Actress, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Picture, as she was in 2006, for her contributions to the film "Dirty Love." A bright smile and some nice curves have always gone a long way, though; don't expect to stop seeing Jenny anytime soon.
