If you’ve ever stared at a pair of AirPods on a store shelf (or in your Amazon cart) and thought, “Eh, I’ll stick with my cheap wired buds—they do the job,” I get it. I was right there with you for years. As someone who doesn’t jump to purchase the latest gadgets, I kept putting off buying Apple’s iconic wireless earbuds. I had a pair of old Sony earbuds that worked fine, and I didn’t like the idea of wireless earbuds that seemed easy to lose.
But life (and a particularly noisy flight) has a way of changing your mind. I finally gave in and ordered the AirPods Pro and these earbuds turned out to be one of the smartest purchases I’ve made in years.
Let’s start with the basics. The AirPods produce great sound. Whether it’s music or podcasts, everything is clear as day. The noise cancellation feature has a lot to do with that as well. It’s amazing, which takes me back to that noisy flight I mentioned. I had some old Apple earbuds with the white cord that we all remember, and the experience was terrible. I remembered how much I liked my old Bose noise cancellation headphones, so I ordered the AirPods. The experience on recent flights was completely different. The noise cancellation feature is truly impressive and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie I watch on my phone.
I also love the handy USB-C charging case. The case makes it so easy to store and charge the earbuds, and it’s particularly helpful when you’re traveling. The case fits nicely in your pocket.
Meanwhile, I’ve never had an issue with the AirPods slipping off, even on long walks. Of course you probably shouldn’t use them when jogging, but for the most part you can wear them anywhere.
Overall, I’ve been thrilled with this purchase. They’re not just earbuds; they’re a stress-reliever disguised as tech. So, if you’re on the fence like I was, do yourself a favor: Grab a pair and thank me later. Your ears (and your sanity) will love you for it.
