I love dive bars, and I love great food, and it’s quite a treat when you can combine these concepts. That’s pretty rare of course . . . you just don’t think of great food when you think of a dive bar. And that’s what makes Never Say Dive in Cleveland so special.
The vibe is cool as hell. Never Say Dive opened last year in Cleveland’s Old Brooklyn neighborhood as a fresh revival of a historic space, blending Cleveland’s dive bar heritage with modern craft sensibilities.
The place is a gem. I ordered the Dive Guys Burger and was blown away. The burger was was perfection, with two juicy patties with that crispy edge and smothered with melted cheese, all perfectly smashed with fresh toppings on a delicious poppy bun. Take a look at the photo above and you’ll get the idea. It was the kind of burger you remember, and you want to come back for more. The menu isn’t huge, but it’s packed with unique dishes like duck and octopus.
The bar is also know for it’s well-crafted cocktails. I went with the Dirty Martini that was mixed to perfection. The bartenders clearly know their craft.
