After hearing two guys in fancy suits prattle on for months about our crumbling economy, it seems silly to be talking about holiday shopping. After all, with ugly words like "recession," "bankruptcy" and "foreclosure" dominating the daily news cycle, most of us would probably prefer to keep our wallets safely tucked away this Christmas. But while holiday sales will surely be down this year, we can't ignore our lists altogether. In fact, why not use this as an excuse to pare down your list and spend some extra time hunting down those can't-miss bargains? The economy may be in the crapper but that doesn't mean you need to give crappy gifts.
