On NBC in January, catch the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Golden Globe Awards. This usually offers one of the most entertaining broadcasts for one simple reason – alcohol. Rather than cramming the audience in theater seats, this show sets them up in tables and let’s them drink during the show. They also cover the lower-rent TV awards as well, so the atmosphere is not nearly as stuffy or self-important as what we’ve come to expect from the Oscars.

While this used to be a venue of minority interest it has rocketed into the mainstream with the huge success and popularity of Hip-Hop and the cross-over power that Black entertainers have gained over the years.

Moviefone, Rotten Tomatoes, Internet Movie Database, and Box Office Mojo all contribute to the tally the worst films and performances of the year. In January The Stinkers will announce some of the worst of 2005 giving you a chance to caste your vote.
The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation has gained momentum over the years as the antithesis of The Oscars. The Razzies have also gained more than a little respect.
