The Man’s Guide to Adventure Travel

First off, what real man doesn’t love a good adventure? If you are reading this and think I will be reviewing the luxury spas and beaches in Miami or LA, then stop reading now! I’m here to share some real adventure travel destinations that will have you feeling like you conquered the world after your trip! My name is Jonathan and I am the website manager for Austin-Lehman Adventure Vacations, but more importantly, a full time adventurer! I spend my free time traveling the world and looking for the most badass adventures I can find! From competing in a freestyle snowboarding contest in Australia to rocking climbing in Yosemite, I am always up for a crazy adventure. Don’t believe me? Check my blog for some of my adventures. How I see it, every great adventure needs a few things: It has to be challenging, has to be outside all day, you have to see some crazy stuff, tons of wildlife and some nice chicas never hurt. With all that in mind, I have composed my top five “Manventures” that will leave you breathless, high on adrenaline and dying for more!
The Canada Rockies
The Canadian Rockies is at the top of my list because it is one of the top adventure travel destinations in the world. The mountains soar up from gorgeous blue glacier-fed lakes. The activities available are endless in Alberta -- you can go on a glacier trek, bike through the highest pass in the country at over 7,000ft, summit some astonishing peaks like Sentinel Pass and then call it a day in your private log cabin. Maybe you’ll even spot some bears outside your cabin! Also, make sure that you experience everything Banff has to offer! Banff is the quintessential mountain town with some happening bars and great nightlife.
Kenya Safari
Who doesn’t want to say they spent their vacation spotting lions and elephants on a real safari in Africa? Kenya is the birthplace of safaris and home to the most amazing wildlife this planet has to offer. I’m going to be honest and say that the chicas will love to hear about this one! You will for sure be the man when sharing your stories about watching a lion come into your camp or how you saw a pack of African wild dogs on the hunt.
Tuscany
All right, I know what you are thinking: “Italy! Isn’t that supposed to be a romantic place for couples?” Maybe, but it is also a prime spot to see some of the most beautiful landscapes, art and woman in the world! Also, what is more manly then tackling a biking tour through the hills of Tuscany and topping the day off stuffing yourself with some pizza, pasta and a bottle of fine wine! “Ciao bella” is all you need to know before you go!
Patagonia
From the jagged granite spires of the Torres del Paine, to the electric blue ice slabs of Perito Moreno Glacier, Patagonia is a region as wild, pristine and awe-inspiring as they come. Need I say more?
Cuba
Be the first of your boys to see Cuba! You can actually visit Cuba legally now with the right adventure travel company. Imagine chatting about your adventure in Cuba around the office water cooler. Not to mention the woman, beaches, classic old cars that are everywhere, and the fact that you can learn how to roll a real Cuban cigar all on one trip! I like the sound of that...
