If there’s one thing we at Bullz-Eye have an eye for, it’s talent, and if Christy Hemme’s recent trip to WWE stardom isn’t enough evidence, then check out what one of our other Featured Models, Kathie, is doing with her success as an internet model. After posing for Bullz-Eye as our featured lady of January 2002 and appearing on Comedy Central’s “The Man Show” as one of the Juggies, Kathie teamed up with best friend Sunita in designing a clothing line that "combines comfort and humor" for any poker enthusiast or those that just like to look good.
At HokeyPoker.com, the ladies have released five t-shirt designs, one of which acts as a wild card collectible and will only be available for a limited time. New designs will be featured every two months and the t-shirts run for about $20 a piece. The beautiful duo first united on the project after spending time researching poker lingo one night, and soon enough, the idea for Hokey Poker was under way. Despite having some early problems with overseas translation difficulties with their Argentinean providers, the girls joke that “it definitely added some humor to the design process. Our characters seemed to have a bit of Latin flair.”
Kathie can currently be seen on the cover of “Main Performance” magazine showing off the latest clothing line and inside the issue in a 7-page article discussing the new apparel. Eventually, Hokey Poker would like to become one of the major sponsors for professional and charity poker tournaments, donating a portion of the proceeds to the Humane Society. The girls are currently scheduled to co-sponsor the Lady Luck: Ladies of Poker tournament later this year and are certainly set to start a new trend amongst poker players around the world. When asked about the sole purpose of their product, Kathie said that “when you look good, you feel good. And when you feel good, you’re confident. And when you’re confident, you win.” Well, in that case, I’ll take one of each, ladies.
