Athletes Home / Sports Channel

Heavyweight competitor Tim Sylvia stepped into “the octagon” at UFC 51 and was defeated by “submission” in Round 1 by Andrei Arlovski. That loss was February 2nd, 2005.

Sylvia hasn’t lost since.

“The Maine-iac” has won five-straight bouts, including back-to-back victories over Arlovski in UFC 59: Reality Check and UFC 61: Bitter Rivals. His overall Mixed Martial Arts record is 25-2, with his only other loss coming to Frank Mir in UFC 48: Payback.

At 6-foot-8, 255lbs., Sylvia is certainly one of the biggest UFC fighters ever to work the mat. He fights with a combination of submission wrestling and kickboxing. He will tangle with Randy Couture at UFC 68 for the official heavyweight title.
