City Pet? Country Pet? Is Your Pet Ready For The Move?

Today’s pet owners no longer think of their dog or cat as a “pet”. They are part of the family. If you’re preparing to move to a new city or heading for a country farm, you’ll want to make sure your pet is ready for the move, too. Many cities in the U.S. are not pet friendly cities, and, even in the best of them, your pet still faces the risk of contracting fleas or meeting up with a tick. The risk can be even higher in smaller towns or in rural areas. So, before you move, visit your vet and ask about Frontline Plus®.

If you’re looking for a big city, MSNBC released the result of a recent survey of the most pet friendly cities. The top three rated pet friendly cities in the U.S. were: New York, San Diego and Chicago. Surprised? So was I. It seems these cities have plenty of places for Fido and Fluffy to have fun and frolic, as well as to pick up a nasty pest infestation. That’s why you need to be sure your pet is on a proactive flea and tick preventative like Frontline Plus®. It keeps the fleas off, even when the leash is off.

Rural areas and small towns may give your dog or cat some wide-open spaces to explore, but their risk of getting fleas remains. In addition, you’ll have a higher risk of them encountering ticks, including ticks that can carry serious diseases. Don’t venture out in the country with your pet, unless you’ve planned ahead and have them on a quality flea/tick preventative.

So, whether your next move is taking you to the Big Apple, or to a place in the country where you can pick your own apples; be sure your pet is protected with Frontline Plus®, to keep away pesky fleas and dangerous ticks. Talk to your veterinarian today.
