Action movies have always been a staple in Hollywood, from the classic westerns to the summer blockbuster era. Now these big films are dominating Hollywood as streaming changes the industry
Comedy
We love great movie comedies, but sadly this genre as been in a serious slump over the past decade.
Documentary
Documentaries are so much more accessable in the age of streaming.
Drama
Great dramas dominated the movie business for generations. Sadly we're seeing fewer dramas getting theatrical releases these days with television dominating this type of storytelling.
Horror
Horror continues to do big business in Hollywood with new star directors emerging like Jordan Peele.
Musical
The glory days of the musical are long gone, though some excellent films are still made from time to time in this genre.
Sci-Fi
Sc-Fi films and comicbook/superhero films now dominated Hollywood. Franchises like Marvel rule the world. We love these movies but a healthy movie business needs much more than that.
Suspense/Thriller
These types of films are still being made, but some are going straight to streaming or are produced as television series.
