Neon's
Aptly named. Neon's is one of the originals in the Main Street district with a huge outdoor patio where you can check out the hotties. Attracts a bit of an older crowd. Japps Cigar & Martini Bar
A bar that gives you your money's worth when it comes to the drinks - the bartenders aren't shy when they're pouring the liquor. You'll catch the occasional local celebrity here and, if you're looking to meet some beautiful women, this is one place you'll need to check out. Kaldi's
More of a coffeehouse than a bar but they do serve up beer & drinks as well. Kaldi's is an oasis from the cheese of Main Street. This is a great place to bring a date and show her your "alternative" side. Blind Lemon
This place will take you back in time. Blind Lemon claims to be one of the oldest ongoing bar establishments in the country, often voted into "Top 100 bars" lists. It was an old speakeasy and it's great for meeting up with friends or getting to know that special girl. Blind Lemon has an outdoor courtyard that is awesome in the warmer months; a fire pit is introduced in the middle of the outdoor patio in the cooler months. Winter or summer, inside is cozy, unique and romantic. Usually solo (maybe duet) acts playing six-string guitars is the norm, requests are usually welcome. Mt. Adams Pavilion

Mt. Lookout Tavern
Great little neighborhood bar in a great little neighborhood. Located in a young, lively area, the Tavern is one of the better spots outside of downtown, featuring live bands nightly and a decent jukebox when the bands aren't playing. Pool table upstairs and a large deck off the second floor make it a great hang out bar, and there's a fire pit outside on the deck for those chillier Ohio nights. Check out Tuesday nights (even though it is karaoke night). For some reason, karaoke night at the Tavern attracts an unusual amount of young

Millions Cafe
Directly across the street from the Tavern and featuring a similar format, Millions could be the Tavern's trashier sister. With pool tables and live bands, Millions is a good place to hang out during the week. The kitchen was recently reopened and now serves lunch and dinner. Havana Martini Club
Havana is Cincinnati's premier upscale cigar and martini venue, featuring 70 martinis, the city's most extensive bar selection and 350 different styles of premium cigars, all in a plush, comfortable venue. Hap's
As authentic of an Irish bar as you'll find in Ohio. Not the typical shamrock, leprechaun, green beer type place. Guzzle a Guiness or Harp on tap, sip a Jameson, and catch the satellite broadcast soccer matches with those who actually give a shit (see
Mike Barckas' article). The female representation can be sparse at times (do you know many women with a taste for Jameson?), but you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised at times. The impromptu Irish music jam sessions on the back deck are entertaining if you're lucky enough to catch one. This place is a must for St. Patrick's Day. 3510 Erie Ave Cincinnati, OH 513/871-6477.
RP McMurphy's
Another Irish Bar, only not as authentic as Hap's but more popular with the younger set. Lots of wood, high ceilings, exposed overhead beams and fireplaces give this place a comfortable ski lodge feel. Decent bands and decent crowds depending on the night. The only bar in Cincinnati we've seen a girl show her rack (not that you should expect to see this if you go there). 2910 Wasson Rd Cincinnai, OH 513/531-3300.
Jack Quinn's Irish Ale House
A top-notch Irish bar, spearheading the recent "Irish Renaissance" in Cincinnati. Three floors, great woodwork imported from Ireland. A huge selection of beer, good Irish food and music. Uncle Woody's

Jillian's
