The Achilles heal of Papa Roach is probably the vocals of Jacoby Shaddix, and he isn't that bad of a vocalist -- he just isn't that good of one either. The musicianship is solid as the guitar crunch driven sound is backed by a solid rhythm section. When the band rocks and riffs, it is at its best. I just don't like the infusion of the rap pieces in some of the songs -- they sound contrived and insincere. The highlight of the disc is the MTV track, "She Loves Me Not," which is the band at its rock-pop best. Unfortunately it features one of those rap moments which drags it down, but the song has such a great hook that it's still my favorite on the record. As with many releases, the disc features some special features that can be accessed through your computer (if you have the right specs). This one features two live video clips from Papa Roach performing in Germany. Those bonuses are never the reason to buy a disc, but they are cool little features that enhance the product. If you are looking for a decent rock record, this one does the job. It isn't spectacular, but it has enough good stuff to be a decent purchase. ~R. David Smola
