With an all too current sound similar to bands like Lifehouse, Creed and Three Doors Down, The Calling puts out a decent though at times disappointing effort.

"Unstoppable" is a solid opening track. The first single, "Wherever You Will Go," sounds so much like Creed that it's almost annoying. Check that, it IS annoying, like the radio gods have to keep spoon- feeding us. "Adrienne" is the catchiest track, a perfectly constructed pop tune. "Just That Good" is a good Lifehouse-esque ballad. But by the seventh and eighth songs, singer Alex Band's voice is way too grating. Dude, stop listening to your producer and sing in the voice your mama gave you.

If you like homogenized, pasteurized rock, you'll dig this one. Don't get me wrong -- there are some good tracks, it's just not solid through and through, and not a strong enough first release to make an impact. At this moment I'm so in favor of radio like it used to be.
