The former band Days of the New has been reformed, complete with a new lead singer, and the transformation was a success. This new set of music comes off like a cross between Creed, Alice in Chains and Fuel. Good, catchy songwriting and players, and extremely interesting vocal harmonies make this a powerful debut.

"Breakdown" was made for AOR and modern rock radio, and is the first single here. The problem that sometimes occurs is that the guitar riffs become a little too repetitive from song to song. However, too much of a good thing can't be all that bad, can it? "I Don't Care" is another catchy tune with single potential, while "Revillusion" and "All to Myself" rock harder than some of the bands mentioned above. Tantric also has its reflective power ballad, "Mourning" …Okay, call me a sucker for rock ballads but this is an incredible track, with acoustic guitar and piano-driven verses, and power guitars pushing the chorus. Close your eyes during "I'll Stay Here" and you'll swear Alice in Chains was still together.

A little more diversity may help this new band find some major success the same way Creed did.
Sometimes lead singer Hugo Ferreira tries a little too hard to sound like Creed's Scott Stapp, when you know his own identity is busting to come out. All in all, a solid record worthy of adding to your collection if you like the aforementioned bands.
