For those of you who are sick of hearing Aerosmith on Active Rock/AOR radio, their latest release,
Just Push Play, will give you nothing new or exciting to sink your teeth into. But for fans of the band, these guys don't show any signs of slowing down anytime soon. They still write great songs, and they still rock like they did as a young band from Boston in the 1970s.
The CD kicks into overdrive with the opening track, "Beyond Beautiful," and shows signs of their funky side with the title track, a song reminiscent of their early 1990s hit, "Love In An Elevator." "Jaded" is a jangly, catchy pop song that is sure to cross over to the Hot AC and Pop charts.
"Sunshine" and "Luv Lies" are other standout tracks, the latter displaying the band's heavy Beatles influence with its arpeggiated chords and sweet, almost eerie harmonies. "Fly Away From Here" has movie
soundtrack/ top-10 hit written all over it.
All in all the latest release from Aerosmith will have you singing along, remembering when you were young (or younger, anyway) and just making you feel good that bands you grew up with can still rock.
