When I first saw the 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track M/T in my driveway, the first word out of my mouth was "Wow.” This car has a very distinctive look that evokes different emotions from everyone who sees it. No doubt that the 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track is a great looking car, but how does the rest of the machine measure up?

Exterior

There is plenty of confusion when folks first glance at the Genesis Coupe 3.8 because most people don't know what the car is. The sleek front end and overall muscular stance combine for a unique and very attractive package. Our gorgeous Genesis Coupe was equipped with 19-inch gunmetal finish alloy wheels with staggered high-performance summer-compound, Xenon HID headlamps, heated mirrors with illuminated turn signals, a rear spoiler and black-out front lower fascia. Hyundai was right on when they describe the Genesis Coupe as having "a sculpted aerodynamic profile for high-speed stability.” The modern design of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe and the drop-beltline rear windows add a fluid and sensible characteristic to this gem.

Interior

The clean and sporty exterior of the Genesis coupe extends to the interior. The upscale interior in our test model boasted wide and comfortable black leather heated power front seats, power tilt, power moon roof, push button start, automatic temperature control and touch screen navigation system with XM Nav Traffic. The aluminum pedals were large with plenty of foot room. The 10-speaker Infinity stereo system delivered big on everything from FM stereo, XM stations, and MP3/CD choices. Bluetooth accessibility and iPOD/UCB/Auxillary ports are all included. The 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track M/T seems to have just the right size interior space in that the car is sporty enough to have the feel of a great sports car but roomy enough to seat four adults and provide sufficient trunk space. Overall I absolutely felt that the fit, finish and design of the interior in the 2011 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track M/T is better than just about any coupe I've driven and that includes cars that cost thousands more.

Performance

The first time I drove the rear-wheel drive 2011 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track M/T I was pleasantly surprised by the sport shift knob and by how smooth and precise the shifting felt. Matched with the 3.8-liter V6 DOHC 24-valve Dual CVVT engine, ultra-rigid unibody chassis, and the 6-speed close ratio manual transmission, the driving experience in the 2011 Genesis Coupe 3.8 M/T was a lot of fun. The 5-link independent rear sport tuned suspension, track suspension, strut brace, Torsen limited slip differential and Brembo braking system combined to provide a smooth ride with top of the line handling. Fuel economy is solid for a performance car at 17 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. The well-proportioned body of the Genesis Coupe was able and ready to devour tight corners and cruise through traffic in the open roads. Sight lines were well thought out with attention to detail for the driver, making for a great driving experience in the 2011 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track M/T.

Overview

I wasn't the only one enamored with the 2011 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track M/T. Wherever I took this car inquiring minds wanted to know what it was and where it came from. Coupes almost always become sportier than a sister sedan but the 2011 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track M/T stands on its own merits and will win over customers with fierce combination of styling and performance. Leg room, head room and a very well thought out interior compliment what could be the sharpest coupe for around 30K. That's right, all of what we listed for the 2011 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track M/T stickered out at $31,690. Just like any other segment in the U.S. auto industry, competition is coming from all directions. This car is sleek enough that I fully expect to see drivers on the road smiling behind the wheel of their very own 2011 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track M/T.
