Lincoln introduces the all-new Aviator

The auto market has been changing rapidly, with trucks, SUVs and CUVs taking more and more market share from traditional sedan and other cars. With that backdrop, we should expect to see brands introducing more and more SUVs and other truck variations.

The Lincoln Motor Company hopes to capitalize on this latest trend with the introduction of the all-new Lincoln Navigator. The 2019 model was unveiled recently at the New York Auto Show.

It’s a very attractive vehicle as it sports the new Lincoln front grille at that worked with its sedans, offering a much more traditional look. This grille works very well with truck designs as well, offering a much more muscular look than the more modern, aerodynamic front end featured by Lincoln in recent years. With that as the staring point, the overall design works very well and should be a strong selling point. Lincoln desperately needs to reassert itself in the luxury market and this design direction should help immediately.

The Aviator also offers a luxury, midsize SUV to compliment the iconic, fullsize Navigator and the MKX CUV model.

The interior will have all the luxuries you would expect from Lincoln along with design cues that evoke aircraft-style instruments and other aeronautical cues.

Other notable features include for the 2019 Lincoln Aviator include:

– Two powertrain options—a potent twin-turbo V6, and a plug-in hybrid system augmenting the turbo engine’s output

– Starting and unlocking the vehicle from your smartphone

– Lincoln Co-Pilot 360 – this includes driver-assist features such as auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot information system, lane keeping assist, automatic high beam, rear view camera, and rear cross traffic alert.

Look for the new Aviator in 2019 as a worthy addition to the luxury midsize SUV segment.
